
Founded in 2019 by Tom Pawelek , Papa P's Bees is a third generation beekeeping family located in Elgin, Illinois. Our priority is to provide local, natural, raw honey to the community. We strive to emphasize the importance of bee colony preservation, and the impact they have in our lives.
*Currently, we have beehives located in Elgin, Sleepy Hollow, Huntley, Campton Hills, Fox River Grove and Wayne.

YES, raw honey should start to crystallize within 1-6 months of when the honey was placed into jars. This is a natural process from simple sugars in honey starting to stick together. Do not throw the honey away! Crystallized honey is still edible and has the consistency of peanut butter. Simply place the jar in a hot water bath until crystals are melted.
This honey is taken directly from the honeycomb and is only lightly filtered to remove large debris like honeycomb pieces. It's not heated to pasteurize, and it's not diluted or infused with other ingredients. Raw honey is cloudy or opaque because it contains pollen, beeswax, and other particles.
